Tell us what caught your attention and made it enjoyable for you. Long story short, mine is easy to tell. I first saw the teaser trailer when me and a friend of mine went to go see Open Season at the movie theaters and they were showing it. After that, I've been catching more and more of the teaser trailer everytime I went to the movies, then later I saw the full trailer. I got confused when they said at the end of the trailer "A true story" I thought WHAT?! XD It doesn't make any sense but I guess they were saying that as a joke. A year later when I bought Open Season on DVD, they had the trailer on again and I thought "That's it! I'm gonna go see this movie!" It was catching my attention too much that I developed a small crush on Cody Maverick, but it's not as big as you think Then when June arrive, my 18th birthday was coming in close and I decided to invite my friends over with me for the day to watch it. I called them the day before and one of them almost couldn't make it. I couldn't celebrate with just one friend so I was pretty upset, but then she called me at the last minute and finally told me that she can come so I was gladly happy she came. So the next day on my birthday, I pick them up from their houses and we headed straight over to the movies. We were suprised to see that we were the very first guests to arrive, so we chill and hang while putting our feet on the seats, but it didn't saw too long until people show up lol So we watch the film and there you have it. We enjoy it! It was the best gift I ever did on my b-day!

I found out about this movie after I saw the trailer of Surf's Up when I was about to watch The Simpsons Movie. What made me attracted to this movie is when the trailer was showing Cody falling over the wave over and over and over again XD. Well I didn't care too much for the movie at the moment, so I ignored it for awhile. Then my TV stations started broadcasting Surf's Up TV Spots during the commercials, and I thought that this is actually a pretty good-looking movie. But, like Open Season, I can't watch it in theatres because I have an image to keep So I let my big bro buy the DVD for me instead haha (It was already out BEFORE the actual release date - lucky me ;D)

First time I seen the trailer was for Open Season, I loved that music in the trailer. I then missed it at the cinema *curses*, I then started seeing the excellent IMDb reviews it was getting on IMDB and people on my forum had started talking about it after the DVD release. I then started wondering if I should buy it from America (I'm from the UK) because it wasn't due out for another month and a half here. So I ordered it off amazon. I waited 2 weeks. Very first time I watched it in November I fell in love with it and I can recall actually saying half way through watching it saying that I was definitly gonna watch it again. I then watched it again 2 days later lol and I watch it at least 1 to 2 times a week now lol, I've lost count of the amount of viewings its had.
Oh I also bought it on BD in March XD

I actually found out about Surf's Up accidentally One day, back in April 2007, I went to the apple.com/trailers (Which I do regularly to find new movies), when I saw the surf's Up trailer at the top of the page. I just clicked it out of curiosity, and I watched the teaser, then the trailer, and Instantly I just loved it and couldn't wait for it to come out. And the rest is history And thats my life story ;D

Mine is a VERY LONG story, and I've been putting it off because of its length, but since today is surf's up's DVD's b-day (in the US) I'll tell it for you guys(not that anyone will respond) It all started when I started taking a liking to penguins, and later, Happy Feet in the fall of 2006. Ever since a saw happy feet I was addicted to tap dancing(even though I never took a class LOL) Anyway, in the May of 2007, my school chorus was having this audition for dancers to dance during one of our chorus songs. Me, being a dance lover, went to the first audition, and started dancing on the stage, which made another one of the girls complement me, and sparked a very important conversation that went somthing like this: OTHER GIRL: Wow, you're a very nice dancer! ME: thanks, I got it from happy feet, I love happy feet! OTHER GIRL: Happy feet's cool, but did you hear about Surf's Up?ME:(Now, in my head I'm thinking, surf a what? ) no, what's that? OTHER GIRL:(now this girl didn't give all the right facts) It's about this macranoi penguin who used to live in antartica, and you see this picture of his dad who was eaten by a shark, and he learns to surf and goes to this island! ME:(Now, I'm like, WOW! ) That sounds interesting, who made the movie? OTHER GIRL: I don't know, 20th century FOX maybe(Really wrong) And I believe it stopped right there. So for the rest of the week, I'm thinking about this Surf's up, when my parents bring home these kid cusines (I'm 13 and I still eat kid cusines LOL) and one had surf's up on it! And there were trading cards on the back, which I remember were also for open season! So I relized right there and then that surf's up wasn't 20th century FOX, it was Sony pictures! I started collecting the trading cards(I have every one execept the Lani card ) Then I went to the surf's up website and found out a whole lot more (I also started liking this so-called Cody Maverick a lot! ;D ) Then when I found out they had a Cody at build-a-bear I freaked out and got him just like that.(I still have him, and I sleep with him every night! ) But I didn't get to see the movie until June 30, 2007 (I still have my ticket stub) Me, my friend and my parents saw it together, and we all loved it! I've been a Surf's Up fan ever since, and the rest is history. P.S. I didn't see a trailer in the theater because I was absent from the theater for a long time, from July 2006 (when I saw monster house) until June 2007 (when I saw surf's up) (I did see a trailer for happy feet when I saw The Wild in April 2006)

I first saw the trailer back in... Ohh, early 2007, then I began to roleplay on MySpace as Lani. My account was deleted, but I never came back. I might start it up again soon.

I first heard about Surf's Up when they previewed the trailers on the commericals while watching the Kids Choice Awards 2007. I haven't seen the movie until I went to my cousin's house on July 3, 2007 and it was bootlegged. Come August 17, 2007, I got that copied DVD and it was amazing! However, I got the home video version of it on Christmas Day 2007. I got into Surf's Up and I've been falling for this movie for 2 years. It got me writing my Surf's Up fics in November and I wrote the first fic called, "Cody's Return Home" at fanfiction.net.
So, I got into Surf's Up and I'll always be a big fan of this movie because it is AWESOME!!
