XDD I always thought that cody's b-day was on June 8th, even in my cody-back-story that I came up with. Although i've never typed out the story before, I can probily put it on here. In my POV, it IS cody's b-day.

I guess if you wanna get philosophical (sp?) about it, you might say it's my birthday, but having my movie released on my birthday would be a huge coincidence! My birthday would TECHNICALLY be whenever someone first put me down on paper I guess. Which no one really knows exactly.
I've chosen October 31st to celebrate because it's a common penguin hatching timeframe, and it sticks me in the Scorpio zodiac, which seems to fit my personality pretty well. Plus, being Halloween makes it more appropriate, since it's a day you can pretend to be something you're not for a while!
...that's my story and I'm stickin' to it!
But totally, happy birthday to Surf's Up...

OMG! I totally forgetting Surf's Up came out on June 8th, that's a day before my birthday. Wow, time sure does fly doesn't it? I know you change your birthday on halloween Cody, but none the less, I thought I might wish you a little "early" happy birthday too. Cause mine is tomorrow, but that doesn't mean we still cannot continue celebriting the first one year anniversary to Surf's Up! Look how much fans we got

Hehe it's all good, I was just tryin to clear up any confusion. If we went by the movie release bein' my birthday, then technically everyone else in the movie would have it on the same day...that would get weird!

From Cody Maverick's Myspace blog:
Timeless?
Well, October 31st was my birthday. It was also Halloween, which is a holiday I've not been able to experience before. They don't really celebrate it in Antarctica... I went as a pirate. Arrr. Fun times and candy fish were had by all.
But because of my birthday, I got to thinking. How old AM I now? Most people have a nice piece of official documentation saying they were born in X year. Well, I'm an animated penguin, so I don't have one of those. When was I born? Try to follow the math.
The obvious first thought would be to say I was born in 1989, which would make me saying "seventeen years of age" in Surf's Up accurate. BUT, that's assuming that scene was filmed this year, which it wasn't. Surf's Up has been on some form of drawing board since 2004. Which would mean if it were accurate, I'd be 21 this year, since I was 17 back in 2004 when the scene was penned. Or does that mean that I, as an animated character, was born in 2004? Am I 3 years old?
And then again, who wants to think of me being 50 years old? How about 80? Can you imagine, that far in the future, a child watching Surf's Up and hearing me say "seventeen years of age" then finding out I'm closer to 87? To that child, I'm still seventeen. Always was. We all know that animated and film characters are timeless, stuck in the age they were filmed.
So I've come up with the solution. Here it is, my real age.
Cody, the character, turns three this year (yesterday).
Cody, the penguin, turns 21 (17 in movie plus 4 years production time).
Cody, the Surf's Up representation, will forever be seventeen.
Timeless.
