In honor of surf's up's 1st birthday, I'm going to start a thread where you can post the things you learned from surf's up. It can be related to the moral,(i.e. Winning isn't everything) or silly,( i.e. don't sign up to be a fish sorter in shiverpool unless you want fish smell on you all the time(made that up on the spot)) or a combo of the two, (It's okay to be a "Maverick"!!)
I can't think of any right now, but i'll post some later!
What did you learn from surf's up?

Besides the winning-isn't-everything deal, my best guess about learning from the movie is that surfing can help you deal with stress...at least that's how I think (I've never really surf before in real life) You know how you love to do one hobby and suddenly you can get away from the real world and do whatever you want? I think that's how they do it when it comes to surfing.
And only the real sore losers like Tank for example never win anything XP

In my POV, Surf's up sort of tells me that being different is not always a bad thing, because cody's differences sort of helped him follow his dreams if you know what I mean. He was considered an outcast in shiverpool, and even on Pen Gu (I refer you to his big wipeout) but wasn't afraid to chase down his dreams, no matter what anyone said, and had to believe in himself when no one, not even his own mom, believed in him.
So, this starts my list of what codythemaverick learned from surf's up: 1. What makes you different is sometimes the key to making your wildest dreams come true.

I learned that being a movie star is a lot more work than you think... Even though this movie was a lot more casual than most (since the camera crew worked around my schedule, given the reality show nature of the production) it was still hard to actually turn and talk to them sometimes. Especially about harder subjects like losing my dad...
Well worth it in the end though. I had a great time and of course, got to meet my idol, Z!

Oh, here's my good one! 2. As long as you never give up, it'll always be surf's up!! This phrase I made up has been my motto since the movie came out, and has been modified a lot, but this is my latest version. And it fits the movie too! Oh! How could I forget this! 3. Never give up, and find a way 'cause that's what winners do. I modified #3 as well to fit the movie better, I think it works well. 4.In order to be a winner, you just don't have to find a way, you have to find your OWN way.

I learned that animation is the way to go ;D But seriously, I learned that if you follow your dream, it won't always be as easy as you thought it would be, and to achieve something, you have to try your best and to remember that friends are more important than a trophy Oh and codythemaverick, you see how you wrote "In order to be a winner, you just don't have to find a way, you have to find your OWN way." Well doesn't Z say that (or something close to that) when their around the fire, and z is playing his ukeleli (no idea how to spell it ) and after Big z explanes what happeded, Cody like "What about "never give up?" your giving up z, your giving up!" and z is like "Ya I'm giving up that my way." and codys like "I thought you were the one guy" and z is like "you don't like it find your own way.." ... no idea where I was leading with that...

Yes! That's where I got that from! Can't think of anything right now (what I learned that is)
